Tuhau

Yahooooo! to the second post :)

*clip clap clip clap* Wah I am now at the end of October. I have kept my promise for about 60 days. I believe nobody is waiting for that so, yeah, im still on track and im gonna give my words. Here comes my second post, as been promised - Tuhau!

In scientific name, Tuhau is also known as coccinea (please correct me if im wrong). Here in Tambunan, Tuhau is commonly used as compulsory side dish. If you happen to stop by at Tambunan, do visit the Pasar Makan Besar Daerah Tambunan located near the Pisompuruan Square (Gombunan & Tamadun Statue) - town area.
Nah, all the stall at Pasar Makan Besar Daerah Tambunan have this little box in every table, and in every box contain a bottle of Tuhau. Every stall provide it FOC. Not for tapau-ing ok! For me, Tuhau will always get along with my favorite meal, cha-sau mee hon soup, cha-sau mee soup and cha-sau fried mee. Just a tip for a first-time visitor, if you want to try or you just love mee soup, then Pasar Makan Besar Daerah Tambunan will be the right choice :) and don't forget to try out the traditional side dish TUHAU :) Some of you might wondering how Tuhau looks like. Don't worry, in this post im gonna show you the process of making it. Stay tuned!

Nah, actually the picture above is a picture of Tuhau that had been cut off into pieces. You can go to this link to get a view of Tuhau before it'd been cut off. Next after that, you got to chop it again into small pieces like this..

In my mom's traditional way, we are using a tool like this ...

P003 : Pinatakan with the tool (chopper).
... supaya urang bilang bikin sinang karaja mo kasi penyet-penyet sma kasi leper-leper tu tuhau trus senang mau chop-chop dia :) Oh we are close to the end of the process already. And one thing you should never forget  is to add some vinegar to make sure you can still enjoy the tuhau even after two or three months. Itupun kalau masi ada, kalau inda habis dalam 1 minggu lah kan ;D
P004 : Yummy tuhau.
In our home, it's a-must to have a big container of tuhau like this ...
