How it is look like...

...when you fall in love with a song?

So let me share you my experience on 'How it is look like when you fall in love with a song'.

  • You keep listening on it over and over again, continuously maybe for around a week or more?
  • Just as some couple have experienced the love-at-first-sight, i did fell in love with a few song at the first time i heard it. The reason is simply because the song's lyric plus the melody seems a very comfortable way of expressing my feeling.
  • Searching for lyric, audio clip, official clip video and karaoke vid are listed on top of my to-do list (mengalahkan sekalian assignment dan yg sewaktu dengannya).
  • Put it as ringtone or message tone or both.
  • Singing and dancing the song while bathing, cooking etc.
  • Spreading it to some friends...sms them the lyric or the song title so that they can find it and listen to it asap.
  • Master the keyboard and guitar chords so you can sing it with you own version, aiseh. Haha.
  • Karaoke-ing over and over again. Record it a few times until you feel satisfied. Macam lagu sendiri la kunun kan. Hehe.
  • Listen to it before going to bed.
  • And last but not least, buying a CD/VCD of that song and give it to yourself as a present. Hihi.

Well, the last part might be quite hard for me as a student, unless im born with a spoon in my mouth la kan. Hehe. But im looking forward to make it come true next year. I can finally understand these saying that says 'my life is nothing without music' or 'my music is my soul' or 'my souls feel empty with no music'. Hehe.

If music is the thing that everyone have, let us then want what we're already have *wink*

Peace out yo! Deo Gracias.

Tuhau

Yahooooo! to the second post :)

*clip clap clip clap* Wah I am now at the end of October. I have kept my promise for about 60 days. I believe nobody is waiting for that so, yeah, im still on track and im gonna give my words. Here comes my second post, as been promised - Tuhau!

In scientific name, Tuhau is also known as coccinea (please correct me if im wrong). Here in Tambunan, Tuhau is commonly used as compulsory side dish. If you happen to stop by at Tambunan, do visit the Pasar Makan Besar Daerah Tambunan located near the Pisompuruan Square (Gombunan & Tamadun Statue) - town area.
Nah, all the stall at Pasar Makan Besar Daerah Tambunan have this little box in every table, and in every box contain a bottle of Tuhau. Every stall provide it FOC. Not for tapau-ing ok! For me, Tuhau will always get along with my favorite meal, cha-sau mee hon soup, cha-sau mee soup and cha-sau fried mee. Just a tip for a first-time visitor, if you want to try or you just love mee soup, then Pasar Makan Besar Daerah Tambunan will be the right choice :) and don't forget to try out the traditional side dish TUHAU :) Some of you might wondering how Tuhau looks like. Don't worry, in this post im gonna show you the process of making it. Stay tuned!

P001 : Tuhau (before the-making process)
Nah, actually the picture above is a picture of Tuhau that had been cut off into pieces. You can go to this link to get a view of Tuhau before it'd been cut off. Next after that, you got to chop it again into small pieces like this..

P002 : Chop into pieces.
In my mom's traditional way, we are using a tool like this ...

P003 : Pinatakan with the tool (chopper).
... supaya urang bilang bikin sinang karaja mo kasi penyet-penyet sma kasi leper-leper tu tuhau trus senang mau chop-chop dia :) Oh we are close to the end of the process already. And one thing you should never forget  is to add some vinegar to make sure you can still enjoy the tuhau even after two or three months. Itupun kalau masi ada, kalau inda habis dalam 1 minggu lah kan ;D
P004 : Yummy tuhau.
In our home, it's a-must to have a big container of tuhau like this ...

P005 : A big container of tuhau.
Hihi. So that is it! Easy prepared right? But easily finished too for tuhau lover :D Anyway, tuhau can be cook too, and there are many different ways of cooking it based on your own taste. For sabahan, you can cook it with bosou, fern, tamarind, sayur campur etc. Wohooo i can smell the hilarious taste of tuhau now :D

P.S. I am shouting to all of you sumandak and tanak wagu out there whom are also from kampung, Hey, stop being hypocrite! If people teasing you eating those stinky tuhau, so what, you're tanak kampung.  Face the reality. Be proud of it and love your kampung life :D

Mananom Parai (Planting Paddy)

Aloha!

So, yay, JJ in the house again ;-)

Living in a kampung life I cannot deny that awesomeness always been the right word to describe it. The environment never been a disappointment to me no matter what and the best part for me was bed time - cold weather and being surrounded by nature instrumental the cengkerik sounds, made me feel like a-ha~ perfect lullaby!

Anyway, spending my short Merdeka-Raya holiday here will be quite interesting story to share. As I had already planned before the holiday, my 'coming home' this time will be focus on helping my dad at tabasan (paddy field). Haa, tabasan part in my previous tanganak experience, was filled with a pleasant memory to remember. That was long long time ago when my siblings still around and still with their bujangan status lah. Now that all of them are married, working and have kids, plus my mom decided not to involved in mananom parai thingy anymore (because she suffered from scabies that happen when her legs bump into the mud), the experience change into a precious one and more to appreciating the spirit of tribal. Since a few years back, my dad alone put all his effort doing the maradu, mananom om mangalapos part. Only two or three times he will get a helping hand if only any of us (the children) came for weekend.

So, for this year mananom parai part, I asked my dad to hire people to make work easier and get things done on time. Because last year we were finished mananom pretty late and that affected the deadlines of harvest which by any meaning we still have lots to worry on Christmas season while others busy preparing and planning their Christmas family gathering. Make it short, hiring people done, i only gave finance support on that, the rest of finding who and when is all up to my dad. But it doesn't mean I am only monitoring and oversee the work. Monday morning, after sent my mom to the stall, I finished some housework and by 10a.m I left for mananom. Soon as I reached tabasan my dad has ready with a badas (banks) for me and two binding of samai

Nah, FIY mananom parai is the second stage in the process of producing rice. The first stage before we have the samai bloomed is called mangasok. But i don't have any picture of it yet, sorry.

 The samai (semaian in Malay).

In our traditional way, this second stage consist of yank out the samai and bind it into stock,

thereafter, we separate the samai and replanting it like this. The replanting process is actually a transmigration process from the nursery to paddy field using a tool named tatanom.

After finished the mananom part, if you live in the village you will have the opportunity to experience how it grow, increase and breeding and finally comes the third stage - harvesting! :)

Scroll down for more pics of how mananom season at tabasan look like. Weehee~ Enjoy! :D

The mini sulap (hut) made by my dad.
DiGi tower view from the right side of the sulap.

view of growing paddy.
More empty banks.

Different from other district in Sabah nowadays, we're still practicing the old traditional way of planting paddy - manual and typical way. Which i found it pretty tough because there are stages you need to go through before you can enjoy the beautiful smell of parai wagu. Among those stages, mananom is the only part that I can fully enjoy the balmy weather, beautiful scenery and soothing green - that is where I found tabasan the peace of mind and inner resources

And that for me, is another reason to say 'life is all about Love' ;-)

Till my next post - Tuhau! :)
